Integrity and Reputation: The Adams Fallout

Integrity and Reputation: The Adams Fallout. Or more precisely the loss of Integrity and Reputation.

By now, you know all about the Adams, Trump, and DOJ fiasco. I have pondered this article for days, trying to find a way to feel okay about what has transpired.

In the end, nothing has changed. I am not okay with any of this. Not that Adams or Trump would care.

I want to say one thing before I begin. I had hopes for this guy. And I was impressed by what he did when I met him.

I met Mr. Adams near the deathbed of P.J. Avito. The six-year-old boy who was killed in a Brooklyn elevator.

He stood behind me as we viewed P.J.’s lifeless body.

There were a lot of people there. Family, friends, reps of Man Up, and Mr. Adams. I offered to let him stand in front of me. He would be closer to the bed that way. He declined.

I thought. This is a good man.

Someone who, like so many others in that room, did not know P.J. Avito. Didn’t know that PJ was my granddaughter’s uncle.

But dropped what they were doing and stood there with us.

This has all been tarnished by this one act. This is the kind of thing that kills faith and encourages corruption. Nuff said.

Justice Dept. Seeks Dismissal of Federal Corruption Case Against Adams

Excerpts

The Justice Department on Monday told federal prosecutors in Manhattan to drop the corruption charges against Mayor Eric Adams of New York, claiming his indictment last fall came too near the 2025 mayoral primary and had limited his ability to cooperate in President Trump’s immigration crackdown.

Mr. Trump has said that he would consider pardoning Mr. Adams, and characterized the mayor as the victim of politics. The president has likewise claimed without providing evidence that he was politically persecuted by the federal and state prosecutors who brought four indictments against him.

Federal prosecutors in Manhattan have said the investigation began in 2021, three years before Mr. Adams was charged. Just weeks ago, the same prosecutor’s office said it had uncovered “additional criminal conduct” by Mr. Adams.

End of Excerpts

My reaction to all this since the mayor decided to kiss the ring is that he has failed New York. He has damaged his reputation and lost his integrity.

If he is as innocent as he claims. Then prove it. Stand trial and clear your name.

How can the mayor be innocent when the people who corrupted him have admitted to doing so?

When they have been convicted and sentenced for corrupting the mayor.

When he meets with a man who can interfere with justice. A man who has shown that he believes he is above the law.

Mr. Trump’s interference in this case has tainted Mr. Adams.

At this point, I can only see voting for Mr. Adams if every other candidate is worse.

What is the saying? He is now tainted fruit from a poisonous tree. That tree is Donald Trump and his administration.

I know neither Mr. Trump nor Mr. Adams cares about my one vote. After all, Mr. Trump has proven that the American voter is willing to forgive and forget lies, treachery, and B.S. on a monumental scale.

Trump will get what he wants:

  • Revenge on New York for prosecuting and convicting him.
  • Immigrants, migrants, and yes, asylum seekers are expelled from this sanctuary city.
  • And Mr. Adams toeing the line.

Note to you, Mr. Adams: The sword of Damocles hangs over you.

Mr. Trump controls the sword. AKA the DOJ and the charges against you. So he controls you.

Said of those who have kissed the ring and abandoned all ethics.

You can not dance with the Devil and not pay the Piper.

In this case, the Devil and the Piper are the same entity: Donald Trump.
