Transgender athletes and the war on women’s sports have been with.
So said Donald Trump, “With this executive order, the war on women’s sports is over,”
After reading and hearing about Trump’s latest half-baked decree. I have one question.
Does this mean females who want to play against males cannot do so?
We have girls who wrestle boys in school sports. Why is that ok? Wrestling straight boys is no different than wrestling transgender males. Is it?
After searching, the phrase. Girls who compete against boys in school sports. I found the following.
The following is from a Google AI search results.
1Equal Protection Clause
Girls can try out for boys’ teams in some cases, and courts have ruled that excluding girls from boys’ teams violates the Equal Protection Clause (EPC)
Restrictions on transgender participation
- State laws Some states have passed laws that restrict transgender youth from participating in sports.
- International governing bodies Some governing bodies, like World Athletics and World Aquatics, have restricted transgender women from participating in women’s sports.
- Medical exams
- Some laws require invasive medical exams, like DNA testing and hormone level bloodwork, to determine eligibility.
2Title IX
Title IX requires that if no team exists for girls in that sport. Then a school must provide girls with the opportunity to compete on the boys’ team
Questions Transgender Athletes Should Be Asking
So girls can compete under Title IX and the Equal Protection Law.
But could there be a conflict here that Trump and his team have missed?
Not So Equal
The Equal Protection Law protects girls, not boys, so it is anything but equal protection. Used in this manner. The law is sexist and discriminatory.
Which brings us to this question: If girls can try out for boy teams, can transgender males and females also try out for boy teams? If accepted, can transgender athletes play against any girls on opposing teams that have female players?
Challenging Title IX
Can transgender persons play on boy teams? By changing two words, Title IX would have to allow transgender athletes.
Example: Let’s Revised Title IX
Title IX requires that if no team exists for transgender persons in that sport. Then a school must provide transgender persons with the opportunity to compete on the boys’ team.
What? That is not the intent of the law.
Okay, so what about this?
Transgender Athletes Unite
What if transgender athletes form their leagues? And invite female and male athletes without sexual orientation restrictions to compete.
These athletes would be competing without the interference of people who fear them.
The public would decide if this was something they wanted to see. There would be no stigma, no unfair laws, just fair competition. So how does the public decide?
By showing up or not to the games.
Attention Transgender Athletes: Learn From the Negro League
The Negro League grew out of racial discrimination. Because whites tried to exclude blacks from playing baseball with their precious white players.
This discrimination did not stop them. The Negro League was formed and it grew. It became so popular that whites could no longer ignore black baseball players. And as they say, the rest is history.
So, listen up, Transgender Nation. Do your own, get your own, play hard, and get noticed.
Which brings us to the following.
Today’s Word From the Bubble
If they won’t let you play with their ball. Bring your own and start a new game.
