My Vote Does Not Count.
I heard a woman tell this to her friend one day long ago. It was before Obama became president, and I remember thinking, we need every vote. Back then, we won, and the country had renewed hope. Years later, that kind of thinking gave us Donald Trump and the beginning of dangerous times.
My Vote Does Not Count. Who Benefits When You Don’t Vote
Every white supremacist group, Trump Supporter, McConnell Republican, and extremist loves to hear you say, “My vote does not count”. You are one less person they need to worry about. And their victory is that much more assured.
Because they believe their vote counts, and they prove it time and again. How? Simple. When you don’t vote, they win. So, their vote counts, and yours doesn’t. Hmmm.
To, that woman and everyone else, who believes their vote does not count, I have one thing to say.
You Don’t Count
When you say your vote does not count, you are saying you don’t count. Your voice, your opinions, your life, and more do not count. If that is true, then why are you here?
If you don’t value yourself, no one else will.
Personally, I believe you count, but it is up to you to show that you are a substantial person.
Stop making excuses for not voting and make our ancestors proud. Show those who would oppress you that you do count, and you will not go back to what was before.
Your Vote Counts, And So Do You.
It’s time to show these people just who you are.
