D.I.N.O.s
D.I.N.O.s, Have you seen the newest exhibit of dinosaurs? Excuse me; I spelled that wrong. The correct spelling is D.I.N.O.saurs. Why? Because they are extinct and out of touch.
It means Democrats In Name Only. And they are called Manchin and Sinema. They are a rare breed and are known to frequent the camps of the Trump Republicans. If not physically, then in spirit as they thwart the efforts of the Democratic Party to help the American people.
A Little About These D.I.N.O.s
Here are a few facts we know about these D.I.N.O.s:
- Senators Manchin and Sinema oppose ending the filibuster.
- Senators Manchin and Sinema also oppose voting rights bills, thereby giving the Republicans the power to restrict these rights.
- They oppose the infrastructure bill that would benefit their constituents.
- When it comes to keeping their word? Well, it is not be trusted.
Whose Side Are They On
There is only one group with the same mindset as these two. That is the Republicans. So it begs the question, whose side are they on?
Having a legitimate difference of opinion based on provable facts is one thing. Stonewalling because you do not like something is another.
And when excuses don’t work. Just say you can vote for what you can’t comprehend. Of course, that shows a strong lack of comprehension of explained facts. Which begs the question, why can you not understand?
And maybe you are not the right person for the position you hold?
And you thought all D.I.N.O.suars were extinct.
D.I.N.O.s Hidden Agenda
The behavior of these two D.I.N.O.s makes one question their motives. Both were sent to Congress to work in the best interest of their constituencies. But they are not. Instead, taking a page from the Republican book of half-truths. They claim that they have so-called real concerns.
But offer no facts to back up those concerns.
A cursory look at their actions suggests a hidden agenda. One that the DNC should be looking for but are not.
Dealing With D.I.N.O.s A Simple Answer
In any other situation, you would fire the person holding you up. Or at least relieve them of their duties. But of course, the government is not simple. But unnecessarily complicated.
The only option for dealing with the D.I.N.O. problem is for the people that elected them to remove them.
And if a vote or No-confidence is possible, then pursue it.
But I’m guessing this is not an option. So that leaves one choice. When the elections come around, vote them out. Of course, by then, the damage is done. And from this, we learn yet another lesson. There needs to be a mechanism that holds elected officials in check besides the election process.
A Path To Victory
There is a path to victory provided the Democrats stop infighting and focus on victory.
First, go all-in when it comes to the 2022 elections. Flipping seats from Republican to Democrat weakens the Manchin-Sinema threat.
Next, after winning both houses, remove Manchin and Sinema from any committee with substantial power.
Lastly, when the time comes, vet and support the replacement of these two D.I.N.O.s with people that will support a positive agenda for the American people.
I may go more deeply into this in a future article. But I have to admit there are times this political B.S. is too deep if you know what I mean.
Adidos Sinema
Speaking of a path to victory there is a group already moving to unseat one of the D.I.N.O.s. It is called Voto Latino. Here is an excerpt from their website. Now if only Virginia would do the same.

This Just In
The Supreme Court is leaning toward reversing Roe v. Wade. This is something that could have been headed off if Manchin and Sinema agreed to eliminate or at least allow carve-outs for the filibuster. But that did not happen.
Now, the Dems want to codify Roe v. Wade but once again they need an adjustment to the filibuster. Will Manchin and Sinema finally buy a clue or will they once again show that they are more Republican than Democrat? As Rachel Maddow would say, Watch This Space.
Update 5.12.22: Joe Manchin Strike Again
There is one thing you can say about Senator Manchin. That is, he is consistent in his betrayal of the Democratic party. In a vote that would have given hope to millions of women, D.I.N.O. Manchin voted with the Republicans. No surprise here.
His reasons this time, the bill expands abortion.

Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin told reporters on Wednesday that he’d vote against his party’s bill seeking to codify federal abortion rights with the Supreme Court seeming poised to overturn Roe v. Wade.
The West Virginia lawmaker insisted that he supported a federal right to abortion, but he said the Democratic bill, called the Women’s Health Protection Act, went too far.
“It’s just disappointing that we’re going to be voting on a piece of legislation which I would not vote for today,” Manchin told reporters. “But I would vote for Roe v. Wade codification if it was today.”
Manchin tore into the proposal, saying it “expands abortion.” He told reporters he had been “pro-life all of my life” but did believe in some exceptions to abortion bans.
This from the guy that lied about supporting Build Back Better.

A Call To Action
So now he would rather there be no abortion rights instead of expanded rights. As will be the case if the Supreme Court reverses Roe v. Wade. Yet another person whose logic is flawed. The other is Justice Alito.
The only difference between the two is that Justice Alito claims what he is, but Manchin still claims to be something he is not. That is a democrat working in the best interest of his constituents.
I said it before and repeat it now. Joe Manchin must go. And what about Senator Sinema? Although she voted with her party, she still must go. I am not a constituent of either person, but I have lost confidence in either to do the right thing.
Not only must the Trump and McConnel Republicans be removed so must the Manchin and Sinema. It is way past time for this correction to take place.
