Wake Up New Yorkers: Say No to Cuomo for Mayor

Wake Up New Yorkers: Say No to Cuomo for Mayor.

I woke up the other morning and thought about all the political nightmares happening.
And when I thought about the race for mayor, two words came to mind.
No more.

Tired of hearing some politician tell you how bad New York is doing? Fear is all they have. Your fear, that is.

The recipe is simple.

  • First, get your attention by using fear tactics.
  • Then, offer more police as a solution. Instead of better laws, you’ve heard it before.
  • Sprinkle in more affordable housing.
  • And a bunch of promises that they will not deliver on, but it sounds good to you. AKA lies. And voila. The same politician you had before, just a different day.

The president used fear and lies to get into office.
And other dictators have used the same tactic to get into office.
Cuomo is taking pages from the playbook on messing with people’s fear.

Scare you into voting for him. Play on your fears.
If he says it loud and repeats it enough times
You might buy into this fear tactic.

Andrew Cuomo commercials talk about, we know this, and we know that. Well, let me tell you what I know.
I know Cuomo is of the old-school network.
The old boy’s network.
The good-old-boy’s network.
The backroom deals behind closed doors network.
The. If you know someone like him (meaning Cuomo). Then you can get things done. Network

And if you are Andrew Cuomo. You can take a bridge named for an Indigenous Peoples tribe.
And turn it into a monument to your dad, disregarding cries not to. That was one of those, I have the power moves.

Tappan Zee: Here’s where the name lives on

Tappan – for the Native American tribe who lived on the western bank of the Hudson River – and Zee – the word for sea in Dutch, who were among the first Europeans to settle in the Lower Hudson Valley. In 1994, the bridge was formally renamed the Gov. Malcolm Wilson Tappan Zee Bridge.

In June 2017, the New York state Legislature approved naming the bridge’s $3.9 million replacement after the late Gov. Mario Cuomo — a move many said was engineered by his son, current Gov. Andrew Cuomo).

The change has been controversial to say the least. It’s prompted many to call for the preservation of “Tappan Zee” or even a compromise (The Mario M. Cuomo/Tappan Zee Bridge).

And then there is the question.
What has he done for the five boroughs since being out of office?

As Governor, I do not remember him coming down to the boroughs as often as a present governor.

And those commercials. You have got to love them.
They have people saying how great a governor he was. And that he built things.
And that he will get the city back on track.

Here’s a question for you next time you see the commercial.
Are any of them paid actors?

Let’s say they are not paid actors.

Does the film crew look for people with nothing but good things to say about Cuomo?
Of course, they did. Why would they talk to someone who does not like Cuomo?

And even if they did, do you think the people paying for the commercial would allow the presentation of people speaking ill of Cuomo? Aka the truth.

In any case, there is a reason why he is the ex-governor.
And he needs to remain an ex-governor, and I never-to-be mayor.

Two people definitely should not be the mayor of New York.
Cuomo is one of them.
We already have one megalomaniac who believes he can do whatever he wants.

Do we need someone like that to be our mayor?

It is time to move on.
It is time to find a different way.

It’s time to Wake Up New Yorkers.

There is a song that says it better than I can.
Wake Up Everybody is an oldie by Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes.

Before you vote, could you find it and listen to the words?
I think you will agree that what we need to do is Wake Up.

And Clean House.

People will believe a lie faster than they will believe the truth. Because the truth is scary. Don’t believe the lie. Don’t give in to fear.
