Hochul, Suozzi And The News What Is The Deal? Well, the deal is facts. Facts taken from news articles that are laid out here for you.
We begin with Kathy Hochul’s relationship with the NRA and end with Tom Suozzi’s loose endorsement then reversal on the Florida Gay Rights Ban.
Hochul, Suozzi
The N.R.A. and The Education of Kathy Hochul
In 2012 Kathy Hochul received the support of the NRA in an election that she lost. So much for the endorsement of the NRA.
What is important here is that in 2022 Kathy Hochul has become a bad itch for the NRA. Her mindset has changed, she now fights to control guns. Despite criticism that she is going after assault weapons because they are an easy target. It is more of a start than others have done.
I do not dispute that Hochul was wrong for supporting the NRA, but the true mark of a good leader is the ability to admit a mistake, correct it and move on.

Hochul And Term Limits
JANUARY 3, 2022 Albany, NY
Excerpt
Governor Kathy Hochul today announced a plan to institute term limits for the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General and Comptroller as the first proposal of the 2022 State of the State. The Governor will also propose a ban on outside income for statewide elected officials while serving in office. These bold reforms are aimed at increasing accountability and trust in the integrity of State government.
On day one in office Governor Hochul addressed the following with action, not words. She didn’t wait, she hit the ground running.
- Ethics Training
- FOIL Reforms
- Recusal Agreements
- Transparency Plans
- Combating Harassment And Discrimination
Does this sound like someone we should be trying to remove? I have my answer now it s up to you to decide. Don’t choose poorly.
Hochul, Suozzi And Gun Control
The Latest
Governor Hochul Signs Landmark Legislative Package to Strengthen Gun Laws and Protect New Yorkers
Excerpt: Gun violence is an epidemic that is tearing our country apart. Thoughts and prayers won’t fix this, but taking strong action will,” Governor Hochul said. “In New York, we’re taking bold steps to protect the people of our state. I am proud to sign a comprehensive bill package that prohibits the sale of semiautomatic weapons to people under 21, bans body armor sales outside of people in select professions, closes critical gun law loopholes and strengthens our Red Flag Law to keep guns away from dangerous people—new measures that I believe will save lives.
Note, as Hochul passes legislation proving she is not for the NRA. And that she is putting action to words in stopping gun violence, Suozzi launched a new negative commercial. The only good thing about this commercial is Suozzi going into the subway, hopefully leaving and not returning.
Hochul, Suozzi: But What Of Suozzi?
Suozzi wants to talk about old news and wonders why no one is holding Hochul responsible for a bad decision years ago. It makes you wonder what bad decision Mr. Suozzi has made, but no one is talking about? Or are they?
Suozzi calls Florida’s ‘Don’t Say Gay’ law ‘reasonable’
“I think it’s a very reasonable law not to try to get kids in kindergarten to be talking about sex,” he said on the show. “I wish it wouldn’t become such a hot button issue where people are just attacking each other – it’s just common sense.”
Suozzi followed up his reply with an assurance that he is not anti-gay. “I’m very much in favor of equal rights, I’m very much in favor of treating gay people fairly and treating them like the human beings they are,” he added without directly addressing the controversy surrounding the Florida law. When Rosenberg began bemoaning policy “based on 3% or in some cases 1% of the population” – an apparent reference to LGBTQ-centric legislation – Suozzi quickly took the conversation in a different direction to criticize Hochul’s Buffalo Bills stadium deal.
Since 2012 Hochul has changed her stance and now fights to control guns. Enlightenment is the mark of a person that can learn and grow. Something more of our politicians needs to do.
But Then…
Suozzi says his comments on Florida’s ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill were ‘inartful’

Rep. Tom Suozzi wants to make clear: He doesn’t support Florida’s controversial new law restricting discussion of sexual identity in schools — despite saying some aspects of it were “reasonable” and made “common sense” just last week.
“I want to clear up any misunderstandings: I oppose Gov. DeSantis,” Suozzi said. “I oppose the, Don’t Say Gay bill, full stop. I oppose them. I fully support LGBT families
A Case Of Do What I Say Not What I Do
It appears that Mr. Suozzi is okay in wanting others to be questioned on their decisions and to admit mistakes. But this does not apply to him. Here is the big takeaway from this event.
Mr. Suozzi did not apologize for his remarks and would not have addressed them if he was not called on them.
The candidate wants you, the voter, to accept his words on the matter and move on.
Lastly, had Hochul made the same statement, they would have appeared in his next commercial in the following days. Something that Hochul, as of this writing, has not done.
